I have worked in the arts for over thirty years, as a Community Artist and Events Facilitator/Manager. I now run the community arts charity ‘Fleet Arts’ (www.fleet-arts.org).
I worked in Northern Nigeria with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), developing an arts curriculum with teachers, whilst travelling round West Africa to research my published book ’The heART of West Africa’.
My own work is in site/time-specific performance and installation, often making the ordinary into something extra-ordinary (with humour), to engage people in questioning both place and political narratives.
I have exhibited or performed in pubs, parks, festivals, shops, woods, a quarry, an allotment, markets, cafes, cultural centres, museums, offices, the street, the fourth plinth…as well as galleries!
